Nossas Toalhas De Praia “Our Beach Towels”

This diptych depicts the familiar texture and patterns of towels in my childhood, representing the four people within my family united by beach days. This is shown through the images of excitement prior to and peacefulness after such a day, providing the viewer with an opening to imagine a main event of their own. Utilizing sand in acrylic paint and sandpaper, inspired by works of Domenico Gnoli and an unknown Filipino artist named "Benitez”, creates a tactile texture and echoes the beach motif.
